Clark’s Bears was an outing like we had never seen before.  It is truly a New Hampshire experience.  What I mean by that is, where else will you and the kids ever see trained bears and a “mountain man” wearing an eyepatch and a raccoon hat, upset with trespassers on his property?  It’s a very unique thing indeed.  Yet somehow its nothing but smiles and silliness while visiting Clark’s Bears.  On top of these activities, there is a water slide, Anaconda’s Escape Raft Ride, where participants wear their clothes and slide down in a raft-you may get wet! A rock climbing wall, a Segway area, a shooting game (cost not included but about $5 per game), water squirting bumper boats, and a fair-like atmosphere with antique and historic items and engines for display. Clark’s Bears is set up to resemble a small village so it feels as though you are transformed into a previous world while at the park.  There’s even home-made apple crisp and ice cream for sale.  It has a very nostalgic feeling about it indeed.

The kids loved this Snake  water slide. I went on with my son and my husband went with my daughter, they got pretty wet since they are heavier but we managed to stay dry for the most part

The Skinny:

  • Weather :  Any day with dry weather is great but preferably visit on a warm day so you can partake in the water activities comfortably
  • Parking : The was a smaller parking lot in front of the building and across the street from Clark’s Bears was a huge parking lot with a casual picnic area for eating.  It has tables and a small stream that runs by.  It was quite peaceful!
  • Admissions :  For the four of us to enter and participate in most of the activities it cost us $107.12.  We had to book on-line ahead of time.
  • Location : This is a fair style entertainment park with trapeze acrobats (they were’t there the day we visited sadly) and  trained bears that follow commands for ice cream, as well as a Segway park, a rock wall, a staged shooting game and an entertaining but short train ride to see the grounds
  • Hours :  This is a seasonal location being open Memorial Day weekend 2022 ( May 30th )-mid October.
  • Duration :  We stayed here about 2-2.5 hours.  We didn’t do the Merlin’s Mystical Mansion, there are signs posted not to if you have claustrophobia. Also the Segway park was for ages 6 and up.
  • Tips and Recommendations : Be prepared to get wet on the games / rides.  Food is permitted in the park or you can pack a lunch to enjoy at the picnic table in the serene wooded area near the parking lot across the street. We did this grabbing locally sourced delicious sandwiches at the Purple Tomato .
