Goddard Park in Rhode Island is vast and fantastic for social gatherings or outdoor activities. There are numerous picnic tables, charcoal grills and gazebos available for rental. Fields and open space make this the perfect spot to play games, throw a ball or just relax outdoors. The beach is accessible within the park and horse riding and walking trails are always enjoyable. Several leashed dogs can be seen briskly walking with their owners throughout. In the summer this park is occupied with bounce house rentals for parties and family cookouts. It is a nice outdoor space to enjoy with family and friends close by to the ocean.
THE SKINNY:
- Location : Goddard Park is a Rhode Island State Park with open fields, beach, boat launch area, picnic, grill and gazebo rentals. Leashed dog-friendly park with street walking and horse trails. Horse riding available and kids can visit with the horses to pet them. You may also partake in golf. There are sadly no playgrounds or swings on this property, but, my family always has fun when we visit.
- Admission and Parking : FREE
- Duration : We spent an hour and a half but could spend more / less depending upon your agenda and the type of gathering.
- Recommendations : Wear sneakers, bring balls, bikes, kites, snacks, swim suits and towels if you intend to go in the water, money for lemonade trucks, food for grilling or cold lunch if a picnic is desired.
- Cons : There is no playground at Goddard State Park
