Why do we love Santa’s Village?

Both kids and adults love Santa’s Village.  That’s because it is the most adorable place ever!  My kids and I marveled at every detail here.  Christmas spirit is rampant, you can even feel it from the parking lot.  There’s candy cane decor, huge sleds, happy staff dressed in elf costumes and giant water slides visible from the street.  My kids were totally floored when we approached Santa’s Village parking lot.  It’s truly a magical place to visit with kids.

What is there to do at Santa’s Village?

Kids are measured and given bracelets upon entrance to the park to show which rides they are permitted to go on.  That means they don’t have to get measured at each ride, making for a more enjoyable experience.  After that, you can find lockers to store belongings.   During this time, excitement is building as the kids start looking around in awe at all the amazing activities they can take part in.  One of the first things we did was go to the elf school and grab the kids their 26-letter necklaces to partake in the Elfabet scavenger hunt.  Their necklaces, have punch cards with the alphabet on them.   Each elf’s name starts with the letter the kids punch on their necklaces and when they are through, they return to the elf school for a prize.  The kids all get so excited for their prizes.

Besides the Elfabet activity, there are rides, a book store, plenty of food and sweet locations for eating, a gift shop, meet and greets with Santa and his reindeer, a water park with splash pads and slides, as well as a theater offering various shows.  The rides our crew of kids ages 6-9 enjoyed best were The Great Humbug Adventure, The Yule Log Flume, and Chimney Drop.  We definitely didn’t get to go on all the rides due to time but, we loved the ones we did try. The light show in the Polar Theater is worth a visit too.  It provides a break to escape the heat and cool off in the air conditioning as well as some calm time.  It was entertaining and better than expected incorporating parts of the iconic Frozen music.

We couldn’t order just a hot dog or hamburger because they only offer meals. The meals included applesauce, apple juice and fries. We were kind of bummed about it.

The Skinny:

  • Weather : It is best if you can visit on a warm day to enjoy the water park as well as the rides because it makes for a memorable time celebrating Christmas in the sumer.  If you visit in winter, I hear the activities are also pretty special due to the Christmas season being so close it feels more magical.
  • Parking : FREE plentiful parking
  • Admissions: Ages 3 and under are FREE, 4 and up $45, Senior (62 +) $40, Military $40.  Be sure to check their website when planning your visit.  That’s because during special FEASTivals, unlimited food is included and pricing increases to $54-64 per person.
  • Location : Santa’s Village is a Christmas themed outdoor amusement and water park (open if the air temps reach 65 degrees Fahrenheit the pool is not heated), with Santa and reindeer meet and greets (with optional reindeer feeding), an indoor light show, and more.
  • Hours : Santa’s Village is open seasonly from Memorial Day in late May until Dec 31st.  Summer is their prime time with weekday and weekend availability and in fall they switch to just weekend hours.  Hours vary anywhere between 9:30 AM – 9 PM so check the date your book to verify hours and special events.
  • Duration : We stayed from open to close and didn’t finish the entire park.  9:30 AM -5 PM in our case.  Our kids are a bit older so this is do-able without any real fuss.
  • Tips and Recommendations : You need to buy tickets on-line, they can sell out.  Tickets are rain or shine.  Ages 3 and under are FREE.  Santa’s Village has FEASTivals and other special events during the year so check their websites on the specifics and price increases to be certain when booking.  Many children dress in Christmas clothing or other festive wear.  Buy season passes for frequent visits.
