North Kingstown Town beach is small yet pleasant. It has ample parking and a playground as well as a stage for presentations to be held at. (We have not been to one, but it looks very nice and spacious with a field in front of it for spreading out.) My kids really enjoy this beach because there are usually other kids here, there are big rocks for climbing and there are a lot of sea creatures. I’ve never seen so many periwinkles in one place! I even felt them as I walked out through the water and my daughter confirmed it by reaching down and grabbing a handful of them. I’m not sure if this is the norm at this beach but we have been 3 times and today was the time we really encountered the snails. They may have been there the last times, but we never saw so many like today. Another perk to this beach is that the water extends for a long distance until you actually get deep. We were out for about half a mile and it was still up to my calf. The kids love that because they can swim and dive and walk for what seems like forever. It is just a very easy beach with kids because the parking isn’t far away and it is not so crowded like the larger state beaches.

- Weather : It has to be a nice day because it is outside
- Parking and Admissions : I paid $20 for a seasonal beach pass for just my car. If my husband wanted one on his vehicle he would have to pay $20 as well-not bad at all! Beach Stickers required. Stickers can be purchased in the Town Clerks office at 100 Fairway Drive. M-F 8:30am -4:30pm North Kingstown Resident $10 Resident 55 years old or over $5 Non-Resident $20 Non-Resident 55 years old or over $10
- Location : North Kingstown Beach has 2 acres of land with picnic tables, a playground, benches, a outdoor venue swimming with life guards and a parking attendant. A field for recreation and out houses.
- Duration : We spent 4+ hours here but you can spend more or less depending on your plans for the day. We tend to stay at the beach since the kids love it
- Tips and Recommendations : There is no food stand here so pack your own. You may find a lemonade truck.
- Cons : The sand is not the softest (more like pebbly ) and the beach is smaller but this can be fine for kids so they are easy to keep an eye on and comfortable in the water.
