The kids enjoyed Pierce Beach for the cool down on a hot sticky day but also they loved the playgrounds and the enormous red slide! I mean, it’s pretty irresistible right? Even for this adult!😊🤪 So when we arrived the first thing we did was slide down it. We didn’t go as fast as we would have liked in our shorts and flip flops so we decided to ride our beach towels down like genies and that certainly made the journey more adventurous! This is a 3-staircase slide so it can be tiring going up but, worth it to the kids!

The sandy beach is quaint and picturesque with boats seen in the distance. The playground area has 3 diverse sized playgrounds, basketball courts, baseball fields, charcoal grills, and picnic tables.

The town of Somerset plans family events during the season here. You can see the latest upcoming events on their Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/somersetmassrecreation/

Concession stand not open?

It was a cloudy morning when we arrived so the kids were thrilled to see this big red slide

The slide was enormous and we couldn’t wait to try it out

The three flights of stairs didn’t deter the kids from several turns down

My son had silky shorts on so he want down faster than my daughter who was wearing cotton shorts. When she put a towel under her bottom, it helped her pick up speed.

I gave it a try too in the morning before the sun made the metal too hot mid-day. The towel also helped to avoid the hot slide.

The playgrounds here are great too but as the day got hotter the kids weren’t as into them. They wanted to swim.

In the morning, there was no life guard so the kids enjoyed sitting in their chair.

The view while at the beach is nice with the boats and trees close by. This beach has small waves.

As mentioned earlier the beach is small but great for a low-key family day. Toward the left is a private area.

We did venture out on the dirt paths, they are short. One area toward the left leads to a red staircase that goes down toward the water. It’s offers a nice view.

Pierce Beach and playground is a lovely location I enjoy with kids. Check out their movie and music events during the warmer months.

Pierce Beach and Playground in Somerset, Massachusetts is great for families and kids

If you are looking for another playground to visit in Massachusetts, don’t forget to visit World War I Memorial Park– it also has a super long slide and some fun surprises for the kids.  Another playground we love is Wilson Park and Splash Pad in Rhode Island.  Don’t miss a visit to Warwick’s City Park for a playground by a small beach.
