Sea Quest was fun for the kids because they got to feed numerous animals and touch others. The kids loved being able to pet iguanas, feed stingrays and schools of both rainbow trout and koi, a giant tortoise, chickens and more.

The only thing the admissions cost covered, was the ability to walk through the area where the animals are kept. So you could see them for that price, similar to a zoo experience. But, for the added cost in tokens you could feed several animals. Their foods varied from lettuce πŸ₯¬ , to seaweed to dry 🦐 shrimp, small 🐟 fish and pellets. See the sign below for the amount of tokens needed in order to feed each animal. Some of the foods were quite stinky! Good thing there are sinks for hand washing nearby!

Because this location is in a mall, there is a steady flow of visitors especially on the rainy day we chose to visit. It was a cool experience for the kids, but definitely not very quiet, calm and relaxing.Β  If you are up for the stimulation of the crowds and have animal lovers that would enjoy these encounters, you should check it out.Β  The kids were happy to have visited.

silkie chickens the kids fed.Β  they were very uninterested in eating so maybe they had too much food today?

more stinky food. it is placed in “gum ball” machines and you insert your tokens and twist for the food.Β  it comes out in a small plastic enclosed case which is recycled by staff and re-used

This is how it all works. Cash is king here. buy the tokens, touch and feed the animals or don’t buy any and you walk though.Β  I bought $20 worth which gave us 14 tokens.Β  We didn’t do anything that was more than 1 token.

The sting rays were awesome. It was hard for the kids to really reach them, probably by design, so they had to drop the food and watch them suck it into their mouths.Β  They are so soft with smooth velvety skin, not slimy at all, you should touch one if you haven’t

Check out the amount of fish. They knew food was coming so they all rushed over to the tiny human dropping it in. How exciting for the kids!

The staff was holding a snake. We got a close-up view but he wasn’t too eager to let us hold him, petting was fine though.

The Skinny:

  • Weather : It doesn’t matter as this is an indoor activity
  • Parking : Plenty of parking at the West Place mall here
  • Admissions and Pricing :Β  There is an admissions price depending on age: ages 2-11 costs $11.95, ages 12+ costs $17.95.Β  Then you can choose the token that you buy which adds to your experience.Β Β I spent $46.04 on tickets to enter for the 3 of us and another $20 on tokens for the two kids to split. We didn’t do anything except the single token experiences, however, the kids asked. I just let them know it cost extra and we didn’t pay for it. They were fine with that answer and kept moving to animals they could pet and feed.Β  Animal encounters such a swimming with the stingrays, sloth encounter and otter interaction is something in which each person has to book the day before their visits and typically pay another $20 beyond their admission price.
  • Location : An indoor animal center with the ability to feed and touch several animals.Β  All of the feeding and touching of animals costs more than the entrance fee. Although there is information posted about each exhibit, this location is similar to an entertainment park than a typical aquarium which is a more informative activity. There is a fairly big gift shop before you enter and leave the animal area.
  • Hours : Monday – Thursday: 11:00AM – 8:00PM
    Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Friday & Saturday: 10:00AM – 9:00PM
    Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Sunday: 11:00AM – 6:00PM
  • Duration : We stayed here an hour or so. If we paid for the more private animal encounters we would have stayed longer.
  • Tips and Recommendations : Expect crowds and tons of kids. Be prepared to pay extra if you want a more private encounter for your kids. Try to come on a day that isn’t so bad weather-wise so you can beat the crowds.
