We liked visiting The Basin. If you like water falls and paved paths this is for you. The water is really moving here! It is the Pemigewasset River. The bike path also runs parallel to this hike. There are posted signs throughout to explain a bit about the area with some picnic tables for sitting and rails set up for safely viewing the falls. Throughout the hike, there are several opportunities to get close to the water on the rocks and take photos or relax close to the water. There are signs not to swim here though for your safety.

We didn’t do this entire 2+ mile walk because my husband wanted to be more enclosed in nature. This hike is full of natural beauty however, it has the background noise of the busy highway so it takes away from all the nature sounds you would normally hear in a fully wooded hike.

The Skinny:

  • Weather :Β  AΒ  nice dry day ideally because it is an outdoor location
  • Parking and Admissions : FREE parking across the street from the entrance along the curb also there is a lot.

  • Duration : We spent an hour and a half here.
