The kids were excited to visit Mobile Quest. I told them ahead of time that we were going to a place where they could play with robots and immediately they were sold! The kids did get to play with robots but, there is much more to do here. This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math ) Center is a great way for both parents and kids to be happy.
Kids get to play and simultaneously learn and troubleshoot. As a parent, I know I am always looking for alternatives to television for hours on end. Also, kids tend to gravitate towards things they are good at. So, if we (parents, teachers, society) help them be “good at” what is typically challenging for most kids, then this will give them an advantage to not just learn about these subject matters with ease but, have a passion for them. Sign me up for struggle-free learning please! 🤩 😁
When the kids first entered, they received a tour of the facility and it’s stations. Katie welcomed us warmly. The kids took to her fast, not to my surprise since she is a teacher and a mom, it is obvious she has a special way with kids. She invited them to choose an item to make from their super cool 3-d printers and explained about the Lego station, golf-tee wall, robot obstacle course, green wall, craft station and more. The kids kept themselves busy during our entire visit asking Katie for help any time they needed it ( which was often🤣 ), but she was kind and patient. We went on a drop-in day so all stations were open and optional for exploration.
Katie told me that the STEM center offers summer classes, after school programs, school vacation classes, workshops and an affordable and unique location for kids birthday parties too!

The Skinny:
- Weather : This is an indoor space so weather is a non-issue.
- Parking and Admissions: This kids STEM Center is located in a small strip mall on Oaklawn Avenue which is a main road. There is FREE parking.
- Location : Mobile Quest in an indoor kids space ideally for ages 5-12 years of age offering learning / playing activities such as open play with legos, magnetic marble runs, robots, green screens and 3-d printers and more structured play with an instructor that hones in on specific topics such as movie making, coding, and sloppy science. School vacations, summer camps and birthday parties are all offered at this location.
- Hours : Their hours vary so check out their calendar for the latest events. They are open a fair amount of after school and weekend hours that work for the majority of parents.
- Duration : The kids spent 2 hours or so here during drop in. The kids were entertained the entire time and never asked to leave. Actually they wanted to stay longer but the place was closing for the day.
- Tips and Recommendations : Parents have to stay on site for the drop ins but not for the classes and workshops. They offer plenty of promotions on their website for the season.

We hope your kids love it here. If they are into science, be sure to check out the Connecticut Science Center. We found that the Echo Leahy Center for Lake Champlain in Vermont offered some cool hands-on STEM activities too. Pow! Science! and EcoTarium would be another location worth checking into for science loving kids.
