The Museum of Natural History was a hit for the most part for my crew! We loved that there were so many animals that we could seen in detail. Like the leathery, webbed, black foot of a penguin. There was bee hive with busy honey bees moving around, but for the most part other exhibits were non-living. My kids love animals, so this was successful for us, especially the larger animals, like the polar bears and black bears. Currently, there is a space exhibit, and they also found this intriguing. As you can expect, the attention span is short with young kids, so we did not go through every detail on the plaques available, or read them from start to finish. Either way they enjoyed seeing everything.
I took my 4 & 1/2 year old daughter to the planetarium, but she was bored. It is a small dome shaped room that gets very dark to show the night sky with all the stars. At first she was excited due to the movie theater seats but the 30 minute show didnβt seem to capture her interest. I would say this is probably more age appropriate starting at 8-ish.
The Skinny
Indoor : Nature / animal museum with 2 floors of animal / planet information to educate, and teach children about an overall picture of caring for the planet, and its inhabitants. Plus a planetarium if you have interest in the stars and constellations.
Cost : $2, or $3 if you want to attend the planetarium show so super affordable!
Duration : We spent about hour and 15 mins here
Highlights : Perfect for those with interests in nature, the planet, the solar system, animals, and a tiny kiosk of goods for sale-very reasonably priced.
Weather : Any as this is an indoor activity

toilets we thought were dirty until we read the sign
