This place was fun. There are several trails. We went a couple of times now both in snowy conditions.Β We parked at the Lafayette road lot and took the red trail to the yellow and did a short loop the first day. The kids and I were thrilled to be out because it was nice to be active in the fresh air and enjoy the snow. We enjoyed looking for tracks. This area permits dogs so we did see plenty of dog tracks but not super successful in the wild animal department π€·ββοΈ.Β Maybe the dogs or my wild beasts scared them away ; ) ?.
This is the trail entrance at the Lafayette Street lota handy map of the trails postedsignage and rulesthis is a nice ide abut I can never comply due to dying battery from my paparazzi waysthis was our first snowy hike so we layered upmy kids love to run down all hillsThere were so many logs across the path the kids pretended they were super heroes as we jumped over themThe kids were trying to set in previous foot prints on the snowy trail-the fun of hiking in snowthe kids playing in the snow herekids are so drawn to watersome logs for the kids to go oversome logs for the kids to go under
The Skinny:
Weather :Β This is an outdoor location so ideally you want a rain-free day
Parking and Admissions : 3 lots of free parking with the largest lot being Lafayette Street, the others are Lake Road and East Road.
Location : 7 miles of trails to explore here with the kids mostly set up in loops and great for all ages. Old mill ruins and stone work from the 1800s can be seen here along with Borden Brook, Nonquit Pond and Cedar Swamp.Β This area is great for bird watching.
Hours:Dawn until dusk
Duration : We spent 2.5ish hours here
Tips and Recommendations :Β Dogs, horses and mountain bikes are allowed here so be prepared to see animals- we didn’t see any bikers in winter!

While here, note that Simmons Mill Pond is fairly close by and you will love this kid friendly informative trail.Β Also Fort Barton is in Tiverton too, it has a beautiful water overlook.Β Fogland Beach is a easy kid friendly beach in the area where the kids love to find crabs.
