Hiking at Neutaconkanut Hill Park is full of surprises! The first thing we found and loved here was the giant cement staircase! It was windy and endless. We have never seen anything like it before and therefore, we had to chase each other up it! This definitely left us breathless. Another interesting thing were the rusty Camaros. It would be great if there were some signs explaining something about them but we were left wondering why they were abandoned and left there for all those years. My son Jamison 3, was trying to identify the remains as what parts they used to be, I used the analogy fossils are what used to be dinosaurs so this was what was left over of the cars after a long time. He liked it even more after that. The 3rd uniquely cool thing about this area is the overlook where you can see into all of Providence. It is quite pretty. The map said something to the effect of a ski slope it does look like one. Lastly, the blueberry trail actually has blueberry bushes on it. My daughter pointed them out to me! She has such an observant eagle eye itβs insane!
As far as the hike was concerned a lot of it was flat but there were some high inclines so be prepared for that with little kids you may have to skip these areas or carry them.
Neutaconkanut Hill Park shares a parking lot with the park which includes a skate park, playgrounds and a pool with a splash pad. The entire area will filled with various aged kids playing and their families close by watching over. My kids could watch at skate parks for hours if I let them, they are so impressed!
